ParkedOnTour — Privacy Policy

Plain English version: we collect the minimum needed to run a community parking directory, we don't sell your data, and passwords are never visible to us.
What we collect
- Account info: email address, a username you choose, and a password. Passwords are handled entirely by our authentication provider (Supabase Auth) and stored only as secure bcrypt hashes — neither the app nor the operator can see them.
- Your submissions: listings, comments, confirmations, and flags you create. Listings show your username publicly unless you choose "Anonymous tour crew" when posting; either way, the submission is linked to your account internally for moderation.
- Photos (optional): if you attach photos to a listing (like your rig parked in the lot), they're stored with the listing and shown publicly once it's approved. Photos are compressed in your browser before upload, which strips camera metadata such as GPS location and device info.
- Approximate location: only if you tap "Near me," your browser asks permission and shares your coordinates for that one search. We don't store your location.
- Technical basics: our hosting and database providers (Vercel, Supabase) log standard request data such as IP address for security and reliability, per their own policies.
What we do with it
- Operate the directory: show listings, run moderation, calculate trust levels.
- Contact you about your account or submissions if needed.
- Keep the community safe: investigate spam, abuse, and flagged content.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your personal information.
- We don't run third-party ad trackers.
- We don't share your email publicly or with other users.
Cookies & local storage
The app stores your sign-in session and a couple of preferences (like your last-selected vehicle) in your browser's local storage so the app works. No advertising cookies.
Service providers
We use Supabase (database & authentication), Vercel (hosting), and OpenStreetMap Nominatim (converting a typed location into map coordinates for search). Each processes only what's needed to provide their service.
Your choices
- Anonymous posting: choose "Anonymous tour crew" on any submission.
- Change your username: any time, from your Account tab — your published spots update to the new name.
- Delete your account: self-service via "Delete my account" on your Account tab (or contact us). Your account, email, and profile are removed immediately. Published listings and photos remain (attributed to "Anonymous tour crew") so the community resource stays intact — contact us if you want those removed too.
- Access/correction: contact us to see or fix the personal data we hold about you.
Age
The Service is for users 18 and older and is not directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we'll flag it in the app. Continued use means acceptance.
